THE PRACTICAL GUIDE
How to make an AI rap video
Build around a performance, not just a cool background. A clear photo, a short verse and a specific visual direction give you a useful starting point.
1. Decide what kind of video you need
A photo-to-rap video puts a chosen performer at the center. A lyric video makes the words the main visual. An AI music video can cut between generated scenes without showing a singing face. Choose one approach before picking tools.
2. Prepare a clear photo
Use an evenly lit photo where the face is visible, without heavy filters or objects covering the mouth. A simple background is easier to describe. Only use your own image or a person who has agreed to appear.
3. Write a short hook and prepare the audio
Start with a few bars, rather than a full song. Decide whether you are recording your own voice or using a licensed music service. You need permission for the lyrics, recording and beat. A visual prompt does not create those rights.
4. Describe one scene at a time
Specify the performer, setting, lighting, camera framing and movement. For example: a seated performer inside a parked car, warm dashboard lighting, a steady close-up and small gestures. Keep the movement manageable.
5. Match the video to the platform
For a vertical social post, plan 9:16 framing and leave room for captions. For a widescreen music video, use 16:9 and plan how consecutive shots connect. Avoid cropping the face or hands accidentally.
6. Check the result before posting
Review mouth timing, face consistency, hands, cuts and audio levels. Lip sync requires an audio-aware workflow; a generic text-to-video model may not match a rap vocal. Label AI-generated media where your publishing platform requires it.
